One of the players that Florida State reeled in on signing day was Lake City Columbia's Tim Jernigan. FSU has been involved with Jernigan over three years and his public commitment put this class over the top.

"I chose Florida State because it was closer to home. My friends and family can watch me play and I can be a role model for the community. My heart is in Tallahasse."

Jernigan also cited a close relationship with Coach Odell Haggins as a reason for his commitment.

FSU had to really recruit Jernigan and they had to stay on him for a long even the times when it looked like he was a "lock" to UF. This one was earned over the long haul.

Head Coach Jimbo Fisher lands his first top 100 defensive linemen. There will be many more in the future.
