Jermaine Gresham signs with the Arizona Cardinals
By Rachel Wold
The Arizona Cardinals signed tight end Jermaine Gresham to a one-year deal on Friday. Gresham was a first-round draft pick of the Cincinnati Bengals in 2010. The inking of Gresham comes four days after he made a visit to Arizona.
The two-time Pro Bowler totaled 280 receptions, 2,722 yards and 24 touchdowns over his five-year career with the Bengals.
In 2014, Gresham posted 480 yards and five touchdowns before being let go to test the free agency in March. Gresham remained on the market longer than anticipated due to a herniated disc that was discovered in a physical shortly before he was set to strike a deal with the Oakland Raiders. Gresham had surgery to repair the disk and has since drawn interest from the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers.
Gresham should find himself atop the Cardinals’ depth chart that consists of tight ends Troy Niklas, Ted Bolser, Darren Fells and rookie Gerald Christian. The financials of Gresham’s deal have not yet been disclosed.
