'Jeopardy!' contestants stumped by final question about Clark the Cub

For most baseball fans, Thursday night's "Final Jeopardy!" question was a fastball right down the middle. But the three contestants on stage racked their brains and all failed to correctly identify the Chicago Cubs as the team to have recently installed Clark the Cub as its bear mascot.

This is only speculation, but perhaps the contestants were unfamiliar with Clark because he wasn't well-received by Chicagoans and fans at large who prefer mascots wearing pants.

Emily had the right city and species but wrong team. Defending champion Scott incorrectly veered into the NHL with the Bruins. Meanwhile Andrew inexplicably picked the Portland Trail Blazers, for which Alex Trebek softly ridiculed him, as he does. Enjoy.
