Jeff Garcia wouldn’t mind making a return to Cleveland as a QB

By Ross Jones, FOXSports.com Jeff Garcia, yes the former NFL quarterback who hasn’t played in over five seasons, has offered up his services to the Cleveland Browns. No, really. Garcia, 43, is interested in taking over midseason for Brandon Weeden or backup quarterback Jason Campbell. “I actually reached out to the Browns and said ‘work me out, take a look, I’m open to the opportunity,’” Garcia said on 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland, via Keith Britton. Although Garcia played 11 games for the Browns in 2004, it seems like the interest was marginal. The Browns quarterback situation has reached a dire point while Weeden has been unable to operate Norv Turner’s offense successfully. Last week against the Packers, Weeden completed just 40 percent of his passes and averaged 8.76 yards a completion. Does Garcia have anything left in the tank? Who knows. Hey, if anything Garcia's presence could be good in the QB room for Weeden. If the Browns were to sign Garcia, he’d be just two years younger than head coach Rob Chudzinski. Oh yeah, and he’s more than twice the age of wide receiver Josh Gordon. But chances are, he wouldn't make this throw:
