INDEPENDENCE, Ohio -- Antawn Jamison practiced with his Cavaliers teammates Thursday and hopes to return to action Friday night in Philadelphia.
Jamison missed Tuesday night's loss to the Hawks with swelling in his left knee. Cavaliers coach Byron Scott said the team will see how Jamison feels Friday morning before making a final decision.
"I feel pretty good, but it's still sore," Jamison said.
Scott said Wednesday he wouldn't rule Jamison out for the weekend. He said swelling and stiffness in the knee has limited Jamison's flexibility and jumping ability.
"Watching him in practice, he looked pretty good," Scott said. "We'll see how he feels tomorrow."
With back-to-back games on tap this weekend and 78 still to go, the Cavaliers are likely to be cautious. But they need a healthy and effective Jamison -- he's averaging just 6.3 points per game in three games this season -- to get to full strength and get things turned around. Jamison doesn't seem happy with his role in coming off the bench, but he's not going to complain. Not in public, anyway.
"I'm still adjusting," Jamison said. "My job is to do what they ask me. I'm a team player."
Scott said Mo Williams, who made his season debut earlier this week, would return to the starting lineup this weekend.
