JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew won't play against the Washington Redskins.
Jones-Drew is inactive for Sunday's game, ending his streak of consecutive games played at 45. He had missed just one game in his five-year career, sitting out the 2007 regular-season finale to rest for the postseason.
Jones-Drew has dealt with a right knee injury all season, but it really became problematic after his sixth consecutive 100-yard game, Dec. 12 against Oakland. He missed two days of practice last week, and Indianapolis held him to 46 yards on the ground.
He missed practice every day this week.
Jones-Drew ranks second in the NFL with 299 carries and 1,324 yards.
