Jaguars awarded WR Charly Martin off waivers from 49ers
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- With both starting receivers dealing with injuries, the Jacksonville Jaguars grabbed one off the waiver wire.
The Jaguars were awarded fourth-year receiver Charly Martin off waivers from San Francisco on Wednesday, filling the team's final roster spot.
Martin has five receptions for 48 yards in 12 career games. He has spent time with San Diego, Carolina (2009-10), Seattle (2012-13), San Francisco (2013) and was on Jacksonville's practice squad for the final four weeks in 2011.
The Jaguars picked him up in time for the team's first preseason game Friday against Miami. Jacksonville will be without starters Cecil Shorts III (calf) and Justin Blackmon, who is on the physically unable to perform list following groin surgery last month.
