It's all down to Bo Jackson and Reggie White to be king of the hill in
the SEC.
Reggie White beat Champ Bailey in the
Defensive Final of the SEC Greatest Player Tournament presented by Direct
Auto Insurance, setting up a clash with offensive
winner Jackson in the championship round.
It's a
meeting of two of the conference's biggest stars of the 1980s and two
players who went on to have storied pro careers; Jackson's in both
football and baseball, while White became one of the greatest defensive
player in NFL history.

While at Auburn,
Jackson won the Heisman Trophy in 1985 and was a two-time All-SEC and
All-America pick. He led the league in rushing yards, yards from
scrimmage and rushing touchdowns as a sophomore and senior and rolled
for 1,859 total yards and 17 touchdowns in his SEC Player of the
Year/Heisman campaign. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of
Fame in 1998.
Jackson, the No. 2 seed out of the
Vaught Region, rolled through Mark Ingram (15), Peyton Manning (2) and
Cam Newton (4) to reach the Offense Final, where he knocked off that
side of the bracket's No. 1 overall seed, Herschel
Walker.
He'll face a fourth seed in White who beat a
No. 1 seed, LSU's Glenn Dorsey, along with Derrick Thomas (13), Morris
Claiborne (12) and Patrick Willis (10) before taking out Bailey for the
defensive title.
White still owns the Volunteers
single-game and career sacks records and was named the SEC Player of the
Year and All-America in 1983. He also led the Volunteers to multiple
victories over Alabama and Auburn during his tenure in Knoxville and,
like Jackson, is member of the College Football HOF (Class of
2002).
