It's a gloves-off affair for Bengals

First, it was shovels, as recommended by Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis, who mandated the figurative use of the tool before the bye so the Bengals could dig themselves out of the very real hole they put themselves in with a slow start to the season.

Now that the hole is deeper following Sunday's 22-14 loss to the NFL's new road warriors (Miami is 4-0 away from home), the tool of choice for the Bengals may be something that can help them land a hard punch.

Maybe they can raid one of Chad Ochocinco's off-season gear trunks for some boxing gloves.

Because, from the sound of it, the 2-5 Bengals are now willing to fight their way out of this mess. If they don't want to fight back at the cruel, smashmouth world of the NFL with gloves on, it just might do to make this a gloves-off affair.

Which would be fine by Bengals fans, who, at this point, are ready to see their men get in a knuckleduster of monumental proportions with the hated, arch-rival Steelers on Monday night at Paul Brown Stadium as a way to revive themselves.
