International League wins Triple-A All-Star Game 4-2
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) Lehigh Valley's Edward Mujica and nine other relievers threw seven scoreless innings in the International League's 4-2 victory over the Pacific Coast League on Wednesday night in the Triple-A All-Star Game.
Columbus' Erik Gonzalez, Lehigh Valley's Andrew Knapp and Pawtucket's Chris Marrero homered for the International League.
Mujica got the final out to earn the save. After Las Vegas' Travis Taijeron hit a two-run homer off starter Jason Wheeler of Rochester in the second inning, the 10 relievers limited the Pacific Coast League to one hit the rest of the way.
Columbus' Mike Clevinger, Rochester's Jose Berrios, Durham's Austin Pruitt, Indianapolis' Frank Dunkin, Charlotte's Brad Goldberg, Columbus' Shawn Armstrong, Buffalo's Ben Rowen and Dustin Antolin, and Syracuse's Rafael Martin also pitched for the International League. Pruitt was the winner.
The International League tied it on homers by Gonzalez in the bottom of the second and Knapp in the fourth, and took a 3-2 lead in the fifth on an RBI groundout by Lehigh Valley's Cam Perkins. Marrero added a solo shot in the eighth.
