Injuries plague ACC

Chris Singleton's likely season-ending injury last weekend was a continuum of something that has plagued the ACC all season, and has been a factor in the conference going through an atypically down season.

Singleton, a junior forward at Florida State and regarded by many analysts as the nation's top defensive player, broke his left foot in a win over Virginia. Singleton, who was averaging 13.8 points and 7.1 rebounds, is a big enough blow that his absence essentially puts the Seminoles (18-7, 8-3 ACC) on the NCAA Tournament fence.

Singleton's injury is just one of several that have affected Leonard Hamilton's team, but this one is easily the most damaging.

"Obviously, we've had a rash of injuries this year, (but it) seems like we've been able to absorb them," the FSU coach said. "We kind of face another situation, our leading scorer Chris Singleton. I feel that we're in a pretty good position
