TAMPA, Fla. -- After injuries to center Cedric Paquette and defenseman Jason Garrison on Saturday in Detroit, the Tampa Bay Lightning recalled defenseman Luke Witkowski and winger Jonathan Marchessault from the American Hockey League's Syracuse Crunch on Monday.

Paquette (lower body) and Garrison (upper body) sustained injuries in a 4-0 loss to the Detroit Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena. Paquette is considered day-to-day after his left leg hit the post while preventing an empty-net goal late in the third period. Garrison, who was checked into the boards by Red Wings winger Justin Abdelkader, returned to Tampa after the game and received more evaluation from doctors on Sunday. His condition is considered more serious.
