Cousin Sal can rest easy (and under his own roof). Since no one submitted a perfect bracket in the FOX / SI Bracket Challenge, Sal Iacono doesn’t have to surrender the deed to his Los Angeles home.
The favorites dominated Thursday’s games, with only No. 12 Middle Tennessee and No. 11 Xavier notching upsets. Even still, just 0.778 percent of brackets remained perfect by the end of the day. Friday saw four more upsets, and the number of perfect brackets fell to 0.001 percent. The remaining survivors entered Saturday with 32-0 records but must have been Notre Dame fans. The Fighting Irish lost to West Virginia in the first game of the second round and the holdouts fell to 32-1.
