Indians-Royals: Kipnis comfortable at cleanup?
The Indians will try to avoid being swept by the Royals in a Wednesday afternoon game at Kaufman Stadium. Cleveland saw its three-game win streak snapped on Tuesday as Kansas City scored four runs in the third en route to a 9-5 victory.
The Tribe is 3-2 on their 10-game road trip. Overall, Cleveland is 12-21 away from home. The .364 win percentage is second-lowest in the American League and is ahead of only Tampa Bay.
The Royals have won three of four and six of their last eight.

Rocky road for Bauer: Trevor Bauer (1-2, 4.08) makes his third road start of the season. He is 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA. He went 6 /3 innings last Friday in Texas and got a no decision after allowing four runs on five hits with two walks and six strikeouts. This is his seventh career start on the road and he is still looking for his first win. It is also the first time that the right-hander is facing the Royals.

Comfortable at cleanup: Jason Kipnis has an eight-game hit streak and has gone 11 of 34 with seven RBI in that span. His two-run double in the eighth inning on Tuesday was his first extra-base hit since returning from the 15-day DL on May 28.
Chisenhall update: Lonnie Chisenhall has also hit safely in his last eight games and is 16 for 32 with four home runs and 16 RBI in that span.
Santana streaking: Carlos Santana is 6 for 17 (.353) with four RBI in the five games since returning from the seven-day Concussion List on Friday.
Royals starter: Yordano Ventura (3-5, 3.41) is averaging 8.53 strikeouts per nine innings. However, the right-hander is 1-4 at home with a 4.25 ERA this year (17 earned runs in 36 innings. Ventura has made one previous start against the Indians. During a Sept. 17 game last season he allowed a run on five hits with two walks and three strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings for a no decision.
Gordon showing off power: Alex Gordon has homered three times in the past eight days and has reached base in 21 of his last 22 games dating back to May. Gordon is hitting .370 (27 for 73) with six homers and 19 RBI over that span.
Moose tracks: Mike Moustakas is batting only .155 and has Miley Cyrus' "We Can't Stop" as his walk-up song, but three of his five home runs this season have come against the Indians.
