Indians recall RHP Matt Langwell for Game 2 of DH; option RHP Trevor Bauer to AAA
Between Games 1 and 2 of yesterday's traditional doubleheader against the Chicago White Sox, the Indians announced that the club has recalled RHP MATT LANGWELL from Triple-A Columbus. Langwell (#55) will be in uniform for Game 2. To make room on Cleveland's 25-man roster, RHP TREVOR BAUER has been optioned to Columbus.
Langwell, 27, will begin his second stint of the season with the Tribe, as he made his Major League debut with 4 relief appearances from June 1-17 and posted no record with a 2.08 ERA (4.1 IP, 3 H, 1 R-ER, 1 HR, 1 BB, 5 SO). He began the year with the Clippers and has gone 3-2 with a 3.00 ERA (33.0 IP, 32 H, 11 R-ER, 1 HR, 14 BB, 27 SO) and one save in 24 games/one start. He last appearance came on Tuesday at Norfolk with 1.0 inning of relief. Bauer, 22, was recalled from Columbus in time to start Game 1 against the White Sox. He did not factor into the decision of that 19-10 win after facing 10 batters in the first inning prior to his exit (0.2 IP, 6 H, 5 R-ER, 1 BB, 2 HR, 1 HP, 49 pitches/27 strikes.
