Indians recall Aguilar, Morgan to DL
The Indians have placed Nyjer Morgan on the 15-day disabled list after he sprained his right knee during Wednesday's win against Toronto. To take Morgan's placed, infielder Jesus Aguilar has been called up from Triple-A Columbus.
Morgan was injured during the fifth inning when he was trying to make a play on a double by Toronto's Adam Lind. He was removed an inning later.
Aguilar, 23, was hitting .298 with the Clippers with seven home runs and 19 RBI in 37 games. Aguilar has excelled against left-handers as he has a .346 average. He will be making his Major League-debut tonight when he will be the designated hitter and bat sixth.
In 15 games, Morgan was batting .341 with a home run, six RBI and three stolen bases. This marks Morgan's fifth career stint on the DL.
