Indians activate RHP Zach McAllister from DL
CLEVELAND, OH - The Cleveland Indians today announced they have activated right-hander Zach McAllister from the 15-day Disabled List. To make room, right-handed pitcher C.C. Lee was optioned to Triple-A Columbus.
McAllister has been on the 15-day Disabled List since June 3 with a right long finger strain, thefirst DL stint of his career. So far this season he is 4-5 with a 3.43 ERA in 11 starts (65.2IP, 68H, 25ER, 22BB, 45K, .264AVG), the last of which came on June 2 vs. Tampa Bay (4.1IP, 7H, 5R/4ER). He recently made rehab starts on July 13 with AA Akron (3.1IP, 4H, 2R/ER) and July 18 with AAA Columbus (6.0IP, 2H, 0R). He is slated to start tonight in Seattle.
Lee appeared in 3 games out of the bullpen for Cleveland after being recalled on July 12 (2.0IP, 0H, 0R, 3BB, 1K).
