COLOMBO, Sri Lanka (AP) Sri Lanka grabbed two quick wickets but Cheteshwar Pujara continued India's dominance with a fluent half-century, as the tourists reached 238-3 at tea on the opening day of the second test Thursday.

India resumed on 101-1 after lunch and added 137 runs in the session in 30 overs.

India lost in-form opener Lokesh Rahul soon after the lunch break to a run out after a mix-up with Pujara. Rahul made 57, including seven boundaries.

Spinner Rangana Herath sent down a quick delivery at captain Virat Kohli (13) who attempted to cut and was caught at slip by Angelo Mathews, leaving India 133-3.

Pujara was unbeaten on 89 at the break, hitting nine boundaries and a six. Rahane was on 41.

Kohli opted to bat first after winning the toss at the Sinhalese Sports Club and his openers put on 56 for the first wicket.

Shikhar Dhawan was out after his typically aggressive 35 off 37 deliveries contained five boundaries and a six. Off spinner Dilruwan Perera got the first wicket with an lbw decision against Dhawan.

Sri Lanka made three changes to its lineup after their 304-run defeat in the first test in Galle, with captain Dinesh Chandimal recovering from pneumonia to replace Dhananjaya de Silva. Left-arm spinner Malinda Pushpakumara was picked for his international debut.

India recalled Rahul on recovering from flu in place of Abhinav Mukund.
