* Gus Bradley's 85-year-old father, Roy, died Sunday night in Zumbrota, Minn., of what appeared to be natural causes. As a result, Bradley made plans to head north for the funeral instead of accompanying the Jaguars on their charter flight to London for their game against the San Francisco 49ers. Defensive backs coach DeWayne Walker will fill in for him on an interim basis, although the Jaguars expect Bradley to rejoin the team later this week. Read More
* If 0-6 looks bad, know there's always another level below. When it rains for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in this strange season, the storm cloud stays parked overhead. Sunday, running back Doug Martin sustained what's believed to be a torn labrum in his left shoulder, as reported by FOX Sports NFL Insider Mike Garafolo. On Monday, Bucs coach Greg Schiano said he doesn't believe the injury will be season-ending, though he added it will be "a stretch" to see the Pro Bowl rusher play Thursday when Tampa Bay hosts Carolina. * With the start of the regular season just over a week away, it doesn't get any bigger than Miami HEAT basketball in South Florida. This week, thanks to a partnership between Sun Sports and PrimeTime Amusements, the "really big three" are being brought directly to fans in honor of HEAT Week. PrimeTime Amusements built larger than life versions of the Miami HEAT's LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. The massive statues, reaching 18-, 16- and 20-feet, are made from Styrofoam, hard-coated and professionally painted.
