* Florida State took four of college football's biggest prizes on Thursday night at an awards ceremony in Orlando. Jameis Winston won the Walter Camp Award (top player) and Davey O'Brien Award (top quarterback), while one of Winston's top linemen, Bryan Stork, was given the Rimington Award (top center). Roberto Aguayo was honored with the Lou Groza Award (top kicker). Read More

* LeBron James is the early vote-getter for the NBA All-Star game, edging Kevin Durant. The Miami Heat star has 609,336 votes, while the Oklahoma City's Durant trails by about 2,000 votes in the first returns announced by the league on Thursday. Read More

* The Florida Panthers recalled goaltender Jacob Markstrom from the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League, the team announced Thursday. Starting goaltender Tim Thomas took part in the team's practice Thursday, but left with an unspecified injury after 15 minutes. Florida will have an update on Thomas' status following the team's morning skate on Friday. Read More

* Florida coach Will Muschamp announced Thursday that six offensive players have decided to transfer. The list includes freshman quarterback Max Staver and three offensive linemen. Read More

* The Jacksonville Jaguars could be without two of their most productive offensive weapons for Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills. Rushing leader Maurice Jones-Drew has an injured hamstring and receptions leader Cecil Shorts has a hurt groin. Both missed a second straight day of practice due to their injuries. Read More

* Normally personable and accommodating with the media, Dwyane Wade has now given the impression he isn't eager to give daily updates about his knees after sitting out several preseason games. Twenty-two games into the regular season, it's clear Wade and the Heat are taking a long-term approach to try and make sure the All-Star guard will be ready for the playoffs.
