The University of Miami men's basketball team announced its non-conference schedule for the upcoming season on Thursday.

Miami will host seven games as well as visit Gainesville, Brooklyn and Charleston in November and December.

The Hurricanes will play an exhibition against Eckerd College Nov. 6 at BankUnited Center before the season opener eight days later in a matchup with Howard.

Final Four participant and rival Florida will welcome Miami Nov. 17. The Hurricanes will then travel to South Carolina where they will compete in the Charleston Classic from Nov. 20-23. Prior to leaving the Palmetto State, Miami will visit Charlotte for a game.

Six of the next seven contests will be at home, including the ACC/BigTen Challenge on Dec. 2 against Illinois. Horizon League champion Wisconsin-Green Bay (Dec. 6) and Ohio Valley champion Eastern Kentucky (Dec. 19) also visit Coral Gables, Fla.

On Dec. 22, the Hurricanes will face head coach Jim Larranaga's alma mater and 2014 Big East champion, Providence College, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. UM concludes non-conference play eight days later against the College of Charleston.

"This is a great non-conference schedule for our players and our fans," Larranaga said in a statement. "Playing Florida, Illinois, Providence and competing in the ESPN Charleston Classic will give us great competition to gauge our progress and prepare us for our ACC schedule."
