High schooler put on the spot sings powerful rendition of the national anthem
Holmes High School (Texas) senior Marina Garcia was preparing to play a volleyball game last week when the school had trouble with the audio system and was unable to play the recording of The Star-Spangled Banner.
Garcia volunteered to sing the anthem herself - and she tore the house down.
Via KSAT:
"We were about to stand for the national anthem as we noticed that the CD wasn't working. I didn't feel nervous. I felt like excited because I get to sing…. I honestly couldn't ask for more. They all had smiles on their faces. Some of them teared up. Some of them had told me that they had the chills and just that feeling that I can give to people that emotion, that was so exciting.”
