FOX Sports Arizona and the Arizona Diamondbacks are partnering with Chas Roberts for the third annual Chas Roberts Cool Play AC Giveaway Contest.
Air conditioning is something most of us take for granted. But many people simply can’t afford this necessity. And in Arizona, extreme heat is the number one weather-related cause of illness. So throughout the month of May, Chas Roberts is giving away air conditioning/heating systems to deserving families in Arizona and New Mexico. Previous winners included a 76-year-old woman, “very loving, kind-hearted ... She was a foster parent for 20-plus years for troubled and abused kids ... and now lives on Social Security only.” Her air-conditioning unit was not working, so to keep the temperature down in the house she used fans and cold towels. “She had dedicated so much of her life to helping people, we wanted to help her be more comfortable,” said Sissie Roberts Shank, President and CEO of Chas Roberts.
Chas Roberts was founded in 1942 and has been family-owned and operated since day one. It started this program to give back to the communities that have helped them become the largest HVAC provider in the state over the past 70 years.
