Happy birthday to a legend, Wood Brothers patriarch Glen Wood

A living legend celebrates a milestone birthday this weekend as Wood Brothers Racing founder Glen Wood turns 90.
In honor of Wood -- the patriarch of the family-run team that began in 1950 and has won 98 races in NASCAR's top series -- granddaughter Jordan wrote a blog on the Wood Brothers' website sharing some little-known, but fascinating stories about the NASCAR Hall of Famer's life growing up in the rural town of Buffalo Ridge, Virginia.
Jordan, who is the daughter of Glen's son and Wood Brothers co-owner Eddie Wood, tells of how her grandfather remembers life without electricity and due to a hip disorder was declared medically ineligible to be drafted for service in World War II.
This one is definitely worth a read, so check it out.
From all of us at the FOX Sports NASCAR Shake and Bake Blog, we wish Mr. Wood a happy and enjoyable 90th birthday.
