ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) Gabe Grunewald has been reinstated as the winner of the women's 3,000 meters at the USA Indoor Track & Field Championships after the withdrawal of an appeal of the race's outcome.

USA Track & Field said in a statement Monday that Jordan Hasay withdrew her successful appeal of a foul that occurred on the final lap of Saturday's race in Albuquerque.

That leaves Grunewald as the gold medalist in a time of 9 minutes, 23.15 seconds.

Grunewald was disqualified hours after her victory Saturday for jostling Hasay.

Grunewald had said the contact with Hasay, who finished fourth, was inadvertent.

Hasay said in a statement that she decided to withdraw her protest ''as I do not want to make a national team under these circumstances.''
