Green inactive for Bengals
CINCINNATI -- Bengals wide receiver A.J. is inactive for Sunday's game against Carolina with a toe injury and will miss just the second game of his career.
Green was not expected to play after he aggravated in practice on Wednesday an injury he initially suffered in the season opener at Baltimore. Green had to leave the game against Atlanta on Sept. 14 during the opening drive but is tied with Mohamed Sanu for the team lead in receptions (17) and touchdown catches (two) while leading the team with 314 yards receiving.
Brandon Tate is expected to make just his fourth start for the Bengals since joining the team in 2011.
The Bengals have four wide receivers active for the game: Sanu, Tate, Dane Sanzenbacher and rookie James Wright.
The Bengals are again without wide receiver Marvin Jones, who was ruled out on Saturday because of an ankle injury. He has yet to play this season, first because of a broken foot suffered in training camp and now for the bad ankle.
Right guard Kevin Zeitler (calf), defensive tackle Brandon Thompson (knee) are also on the Bengals inactive list, as are cornerback Chris Lewis-Harris, linebacker Khairi Fortt and rookie defensive end Will Clarke.
