Green Gratto, Extinct Charm win Big A stakes

NEW YORK (AP) Green Gratto and Extinct Charm each won $100,000 stakes on Saturday at Aqueduct.

Green Gratto dominated the Gravesend, setting the pace on his way to a 5 3/4 length victory over even-money favorite Palace.

It was the second straight Aqueduct stakes win for Green Gratto. The 5-year-old owned and trained by Gaston Grant captured the Fall Highweight Handicap here last month. Kendrick Carmouche was aboard for the six furlongs in 1:09.89.

Green Gratto paid $10.20 to win.

Extinct Charm returned $27.40 for his upset victory in the Damon Runyon for 2-year-olds bred in New York.

Extinct Charm prevailed by a neck over E J's Legacy, his second win in nine starts.

Aaron Gryder had the mount for trainer Gary Contessa as the colt covered the one mile, 70 yards in 1:44.73.
