The Minnesota Gophers overcame a cold start and a smaller than normal home crowd due to a Twin Cities blizzard as they defeated Eastern Kentucky 71-58 Saturday at Williams Arena.
Minnesota, who is ranked No. 20 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll, improved to 9-1 with the victory. Eastern Kentucky fell to 5-5.
