The Minnesota Gophers' leading scorer is going pro with one year of eligibility remaining.

Junior forward Rem Pitlick signed a two-year contract with the Nashville Predators on Friday, a week after Notre Dame ended Minnesota's season in the semifinals of the Big Ten tournament.

Pitlick led the Gophers with 21 goals and 45 points in 38 games this season, and finishes his college career with 108 points in 112 games.

A third-round pick of the Predators in 2016, Pitlick is the second Gophers junior to sign a pro contract this week, joining goaltender Mat Robson, who signed with the Minnesota Wild.

The Gophers also have nine seniors departing, including Pitlick's linemates, Brent Gates Jr. and Tyler Sheehy, as well as goaltenders Eric Schierhorn and Brock Kautz.
