COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- The Columbus Crew have announced that defender Glauber has undergone arthroscopic knee surgery on a ruptured left anterior cruciate ligament and is expected to return next season.
Glauber sustained the injury on June 13 in the sixth minute of the Crew's fourth-round loss in the U.S. Open Cup against the Chicago Fire at Toyota Park. In Glauber's first season with the Crew, the Brazilian made 13 starts and recorded one goal -- a header against San Jose on March 16 in the home opener.
He is expected to begin rehab soon.
