Gina Carano lands a role in 'Deadpool' opposite Ryan Reynolds

Just when it seemed as if Gina Carano was flirting with a return to MMA, the former Elite XC and Strikeforce star had her new career as an actress in Hollywood pick up significantly with several new roles.
The latest will see Carano star opposite Ryan Reynolds in the film "Deadpool" based on the Marvel Comics character first seen on film in the movie "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." The news was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

Carano's acting career has picked up a lot lately with several roles including a part in the upcoming remake of the Jean Claude Van Damme film "Kickboxer," which also stars former UFC champion Georges St-Pierre.
Carano also recently starred in 'Bus 657' alongside Robert DeNiro as well as her own lead feature in the action film 'In the Blood.'
Her newest project will land her in the Marvel Universe by way of the X-Men and the "Merc with a Mouth" Deadpool.
