Gilbert signs rookie deal with Browns
Cornerback Justin Gilbert, one of the last unsigned 2014 first-round draft picks, has inked a deal.
Multiple outlets said Wednesday the Cleveland Browns and Gilbert agreed to terms on a contract, and the team made it official with an announcement Wednesday night. The deal comes just days before Browns training camp begins Saturday in Berea, Ohio, and it means the team has signed all six of its 2014 draft picks.
Gilbert is expected to battle Buster Skrine for the starting corner spot opposite Pro Bowler Joe Haden.
Cleveland selected Gilbert, the 6-foot-tall, 202-pound corner out of Oklahoma State, with the 8th overall pick in the draft.
Offensive lineman Taylor Lewan, selected by the Tennessee Titans, is the last remaining first-round pick from this year's draft without a contract.
