While Johnny Football sits for the first half on Saturday, Johnny Football the horse will be running ... at Saratoga.

The star Texas A&M quarterback will be cooling his heels for the first half against Rice. His 2-year-old namesake will be scorching his hooves over the Spa track as he makes his debut.

Johnny Football, the horse, is listed at 8-1 on the morning line. He will be ridden by Robby Albarado and will break from post nine. Albarado will comprise most of the 119 pounds.

The owners of Johnny Football the horse ponied up $110,000 to purchase him, slightly more than they supposedly pay for autograph sessions in Florida.

The morning-line odds are longer on Johnny Football the horse than Johnny Football the person to win the Heisman. After he was declared ineligible for only a half, the odds on the Heisman race on Johnny Football dropped from 12-1 to 8-1.
