Gators PG Kasey Hill sidelined with ankle sprain
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Tests showed no further damage to Florida point guard Kasey Hill's badly sprained left ankle.
A highly touted freshman averaging 10 points a game, Hill suffered a high-ankle sprain early in the second half against Southern on Monday night.
X-rays taken Tuesday determined no broken bones, and coach Billy Donovan believes Hill will be sidelined at least a month.
The injury could be problematic for No. 16 Florida (3-1), which already is without point guard Scottie Wilbekin. The senior is suspended indefinitely, but could return as early as next week.
The Gators, who have won 18 consecutive home games, host Middle Tennessee on Thursday night. Without Hill and Wilbekin, guard DeVon Walker and versatile forward Dorian Finney-Smith are expected to share point-guard duties.
