MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Due to heavy rain at Reese Smith Jr. Field, Middle Tennessee's baseball game against ULM has been suspended with the Warhawks leading, 8-3, in the middle of the sixth. The contest will resume at 2 p.m. Saturday with the second game following 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one.

Centerfielder Ryan Stephens, third baseman Hank LaRue and designated hitter Michael Adkins are due up for the Blue Raiders when the game resumes.

MT was first on the board with a three-spot in the opening inning. Shortstop Ryan Ford led off with a single and later scored on a wild pitch, while first baseman Trent Miller lined a double into the rightfield corner to score second baseman Johnny Thomas for the 2-0 lead. Miller then made his way home on a double play ball.

The Warhawks responded with eight unanswered runs, knotting it up in the third thanks to a three-run double off the bat of catcher Dalton Todd. Centerfielder Dalton Herrington added a two-run double in the fourth to give ULM its first lead, and a pair of RBI-singles in the fifth made it a five-run cushion.

MT starter Zac Curtis allowed eight runs, all earned, on 11 hits in 4.1 innings before exiting in favor of Jordan Cooper. Cooper had worked just 1.2 innings and struck out five when the rain halted the game.

ULM starter Cale Wine tossed five innings, allowing three runs on four hits.
