Frankel stretches out, stays unbeaten
Frankel was simply fabulous again, winning the Juddmonte International by seven lengths at York Racecourse on Wednesday and extending his perfect record to 13 for 13.
The 4-year-old colt pulled away from the field in the final quarter-mile in his first race at 1-1/4 miles.
''That was great, wasn't it?'' said trainer Henry Cecil said. ''It's fantastic.''
Sent off as the 1-10 favorite, Frankel was seventh at the start before he steadily gained ground and swept clear of the competition under jockey Tom Queally.
Cecil is undergoing treatment for stomach cancer and said he feels ''20 years better'' after the race.
Farhh was second, a nose ahead of St. Nicholas Abbey in a nine-horse field.
''As we knew before, the winner is in a different class to everything else,'' said Farhh's trainer Saeed bin Suroor. ''We have no plans for him, but we will try to find a race without Frankel.''
It was the eighth Group 1 win for Frankel, who posted the second-largest victory margin of his career.
