JBeall:  Yeah it's only Year 3 for Dalton, and made solid strides in his sophomore campaign. I think some underperformances in big games are the catalyst for this "Make or Break" nonsense. I don't think he necessitates starter status in standard leagues just yet, but is definitely one of the better backups available

JBeall:  Jackson was having a decent 2012 before he suffered injury and missed the last five weeks of the season. I think Maclin would have been the higher beneficiary of Chip Kelly's new offense rather than Jackson, yet still think the system should prove dividends. Philly desperately needs a complement in their receiving ranks though to take some of the heat off Jackson

JBeall:  WAY under. I know he was just a rookie last season, but if you look at his game logs, Wilson has more hiccups than highlights. In fact, subtract the Buffalo outing and the numbers look pedestrian. With Harvin out at least for the first half of the season, along with Seattle's desire to have Wilson throw LESS this year, I think Wilson is more of a gamble than believed

[ Comment From amos moses amos moses:  ]  Thinking about throwing Week 1 so I can get the top waiver wire pick. Landed me alfred morris last year (although i didn't intentionally throw it that time). Anything bad about this i'm not seeing??

[ Comment From guest guest:  ]  better year, cecil shorts or lance moore? either one a receiver2?

Tuesday August 6, 2013  4:32  guest

JBeall:  as for Moore, I like him, and he's always good for three or four outburts a season. Unfortunately, in standard leagues, I don't think he has the stability I'm looking for from a No. 2 WR or Flex

Tuesday August 6, 2013  4:34  JBeall

4:34

JBeall:  Utilize two of your first three picks on RBs. You can find a decent WR late in the draft; can't say the same for halfbacks

Tuesday August 6, 2013  4:35  JBeall

4:35

JBeall:  See above. Unless it's Rodgers, Newton, Brees, Manning, I wouldn't waste one of my first four selections on a QB. You can find value in guys like Brady, Romo, Stafford in the mid-rounds

Tuesday August 6, 2013  4:36  JBeall

4:36

JBeall:  It will be hard to replicate 120 receptions, yet I think 90 balls is certainly feasible. And while Welker never garnered much love inside the red zone in New England, given the lack of viable TEs in Denver, the diminutive WR's red-zone ventures could be on the rise. in the end, I think his value holds steady, with the arrow pointing slightly up

Tuesday August 6, 2013  4:38  JBeall

4:38

JBeall:  I keep hearing people gush about Carson Palmer's presence making Larry Fitzgerald a top WR again. Though this holds some validity (I mean, did you SEE who was under center for Arizona last season?), I think Floyd is the asset most likely to see an uptick in value from the Palmer acquisition. Floyd showed promise at the end of 2012, and after a slow assimilation process, seems to be "getting it" this training camp. I would look at Floyd as a late-round grab

Tuesday August 6, 2013  4:40  JBeall

JBeall:  not crazy about either. Hillman is currently listed atop the Broncos depth chart, but I think most foresee Ball taking the reins eventually in Mile High. Ingram should benefit with Sean Payton returning to the sidelines, but battling P. Thomas and Sproles for time, don't think he's worth the pick-up...so if I had to pick one, with trepidation - Hillman

Tuesday August 6, 2013  4:43  JBeall

4:43

JBeall:  I would go Charles, for reasons mentioned above. the safe choice in non-PPR leagues is Lynch, but because of the keeper rules, I would at least CONSIDER Martin before going with the KC back. As for Rice and Spiller - Rice is one of the most dependable backs at a fickle position, but I think he's lost a tad of electricity and B. Pierce could be taking looks away, and although Spiller had a breakout 2012, I think Fred Jackson will get more love in terms of plays than people expect

[ Comment From Wes Wes:  ]  Mendenhall or Green-Ellis in a PPR League?

Tuesday August 6, 2013  4:47  Wes

4:49

JBeall:  Going back to Arizona, one name to look out for - Stepfan Taylor. He's not particularly mind-blowing at any feat, but with injuries to Mendenhall and Ryan Williams, Taylor might fall into carries with the Cardinals. Like closers in baseball, having the job is 90 percent of the battle with backs

Tuesday August 6, 2013  4:50  JBeall

4:50

JBeall:  usually I'm against betting on rookies, but I think Le'Veon Bell for Pittsburgh has a chance to be a top-10 back. The Steelers line is formidable, and Bell is extremely sound in pass protection and the receiving game. Going in the mid-rounds, make sure Bell is on your radar

Tuesday August 6, 2013  4:52  JBeall

4:52

JBeall:  depends on Von Miller's status. If Miller is back, DEN is worth a look as a top-5 unit. HOU's secondary is currently a mess, and think they're going to disappoint. Nevertheless, think I'd still go the Texans between the two

Tuesday August 6, 2013  4:54  JBeall

4:54

JBeall:  The only WRs worth a look in the first two rounds are Megatron and Brandon Marshall. I'll throw in Jimmy Graham from the TE position as well. Dez Bryant is too mercurial for my taste, and AJ Green and Fitzgerald are more of third-round picks

Tuesday August 6, 2013  4:55  JBeall

4:55

JBeall:  we touched on it above, but Rice is as safe as a bet as there is at a position that's always plagued by injury. I think Pierce gets a decent haul of the workload this season to keep Rice fresh for the playoffs, which cuts into his production and probably his status as a top-5 pick. Yet in the 8-10 range? Love him

Tuesday August 6, 2013  4:57  JBeall

4:57

JBeall:  I wouldn't say anyone has taken a huge drop, per se, but one to look out for is Peyton Manning. Denver line is decent but not great, and already lost Dan Koppen for the year. keep an eye on the Broncos during training camp
