While pitchers and catchers will be reporting for Cactus League duty in a matter of days, FOX Sports is taking spring training to the troops.

A contingent of former players, former greats, announcers and FOX Sports Girls have headed to Germany this week and will make camp at U.S. Army Garrison Grafenwoehr, a training base for U.S. and international troops, from Feb. 5-7. Among those in attendance will be FOX Sports Arizona Girl Danielle, new Diamondbacks TV analyst Bob Brenly and D-backs reliever Heath Bell.

Activities at the base will include the MPs and 172nd Infantry Brigade playing a Wiffle Ball game, with current and former players and the FOX Sports Girls taking part on both teams, morning physical training and meals with the troops, combat simulations, youth baseball clinics for children of troops and visits to the Wounded Warrior Center and schools on base. The trip is intended to transport the fun and excitement of spring training to those in the military while also showcasing soldiers' daily lives and the commitment they make to our country.

Participants will include Hall of Famers Wade Boggs and Rollie Fingers, former Angels star Tim Salmon, former Braves star David Justice, Padres reliever Luke Gregerson, former player Brian Schneider, Diamondbacks director of military affairs Jack Ensch, Orestes Destrade of FOX Sports Florida, Mario Impemba of FOX Sports Detroit and FOX Sports Girls from each region.
