FOX Sports San Diego Rolls Out Marketing Campaign for "Battle on the Midway"
San Diego – FOX Sports San Diego (FSSD) today unveiled elements of its marketing campaign to promote "Battle on the Midway." The basketball game featuring San Diego State vs. Syracuse will kick off Veteran's Day weekend on Friday, Nov. 9 aboard the flight deck of the historic USS Midway Museum anchored in San Diego Harbor. Pregame coverage will start at 4 p.m. PT, with tipoff planned for 5 p.m. PT. The game will be the 2012-'13 season opener for both teams.
Marketing Elements Include:
• Billboard – "Battle on the Midway" takes over the prime trivision billboard located on I-805 South just past the I-5 split. This billboard is in one of the most heavily-trafficked areas in the San Diego market.
• Television – Hundreds of promotional spots will air across FOX Sports San Diego and all of the FOX Sports regional networks across the country, reaching more than 80 million viewers. Promotional spots will also air on additional national cable networks in the coming weeks.
• Radio – Radio spots will be featured locally on XX1090, the #1 sports radio station in San Diego, and 100.7 Jack FM, the #1 adult hits station in San Diego.
• Digital Mobile Billboard – Promotion will be featured digitally on a mobile billboard truck scheduled to drive around San Diego County five days a week.
• Digital and Social Media – Promotions will be featured on FOX Sports digital platforms, as well as FOX Sports Facebook and Twitter pages.
Hall-of-Fame broadcaster Dick Enberg and five-time NBA Champion and current NBA Analyst Steve Kerr will call the "Battle on the Midway." FOX Sports' versatile broadcaster Erin Andrews will report from the sidelines and contribute to pre- and post-game coverage. FOX Sports San Diego's Mike Pomeranz will host pre- and post-game coverage.
