FOX Football Friday powered by DCTF back for fourth season
FOX Sports Southwest begins its fourth season in partnership with Dave Campbell's Texas Football of providing the most comprehensive coverage of Texas high school football on Friday nights.
FOX FOOTBALL FRIDAY POWERED BY DCTF returns in 2014 with a new and improved look. The four-hour program featuring highlights and updates from games across Texas will lead into two additional hours of high school football coverage on FOX Sports Southwest.
The six consecutive hours of live Friday night high school football programming will keep fans updated on games across the Lone Star State.
FOX FOOTBALL FRIDAY kicks off the night at 7:00 p.m. CT and is followed by SPORTSDAY HS at 11:00 p.m. CT. HIGH SCHOOL SCOREBOARD LIVE at midnight CT wraps up the evening with a one-hour review of the night's action.
FOX FOOTBALL FRIDAY will whip around the state for game previews, updated scores and highlights, and live reports from correspondents. The four-hour program will be shown on FOX Sports Southwest or FOX Sports Southwest Plus when live professional sports are televised on FOX Sports Southwest.
FOX Sports Southwest's Ric Renner and Erin Hartigan will team with Texas Football Managing Editor Greg Tepper to anchor the show from the FOX Sports Southwest studio. Angela Hamman and Jeff Power also are part of the FOX FOOTBALL FRIDAY team and will provide reports from marquee games they attend.
New this year is the addition of Student Correspondents. Texas Football will work with the UIL to recruit high school journalism students throughout the state. They'll contribute reports, highlights and social media updates from their games.
The Student Correspondent concept is the result of the FOX Sports University program with Baylor University. Baylor students worked with FOX Sports as part of a competition-style class last fall. Students were tasked with developing a campaign to promote FOX Sports Southwest's Texas high school sports programming. Among the ideas conceived by the Baylor students was the use of student correspondents.
FOX Sports Southwest's Friday night high school football coverage won't end with FOX FOOTBALL FRIDAY.
The network will again simulcast SPORTSDAY HS at 11:00 p.m. CT. The one-hour radio show presented by the Dallas Morning News and Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket in Dallas features scores and highlights from games in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
FOX Sports Southwest's signature HIGH SCHOOL SCOREBOARD LIVE show follows at midnight CT and wraps up the night. The one-hour scoreboard show returns for its 18th season this fall with co-anchors Craig Way and Ric Renner. They'll offer a complete recap of Friday night football in Texas with scores, highlights, game reports and the popular Emmy award winning DQ Big Game of the Week segment hosted by Neil Beasley.
