Country music singer and former Oklahoma football player TJ Hamilton is being accused of scamming people of almost $1 million.
Hamilton, from Mounds, Okla., who was on the Oklahoma football roster along with now-St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford, never played for the Sooners. Now there are two lawsuits pending in Tulsa, Okla., and one in Oklahoma City that allege he lied to investors and then used the money to fund his country music career, KTUL-TV in Tulsa is reporting.
The lawsuits say Hamilton used his football status to trick people into investing in an invention that never really came to be. Hamilton allegedly told potential investors that he had an idea for nutritional products and innovative sports apparel, like antibacterial chinstraps.
The lawsuits also say he spent the money on trips to Las Vegas, hotels, clothing, shoes, electronics and more.
ESPN's Dari Nowkhah and former OU receiver Ryan Broyles both took to Twitter last week telling fans to check out Hamilton's new music.

Meanwhile, former Sooner fullback J.D. Runnels Tweeted Hamilton lied to him and then later Tweeted he "Ain't cool" with Hamilton.
Hamilton's "She's Like Summer" is No. 86 this week on the iTunes Country Music Top 100 albums. His attorney told KTUL the charges are "bogus" and Hamilton is denying all the allegations.
