Former Miami Hurricanes head coach Randy Shannon will join the staff of new Florida Gators coach Jim McElwain as the linebackers coach and recruiting coordinator, according to multiple reports.
Shannon, who also played at Miami, was 28-22 as head coach at the school from 2007-10. He was linebackers coach for TCU in 2012 and served in the same role at Arkansas the past two seasons.
While his Hurricanes teams lacked success on the field, Shannon's recruiting classes were regularly regarded among the nation's best during his tenure.
