Former Brown Colt McCoy leads Washington to comeback win
Former Cleveland Brown Colt McCoy came off the bench to lead the Washington Redskins over the Tennessee Titans in Washington on Sunday.
Trailing 10-6 at the half, Washington coach Jay Gruden pulled Kirk Cousins and put McCoy in. Cousins threw an interception and lost a fumble in the first two quarters.
McCoy's first pass was a 70-yard touchdown to Pierre Garcon.
Colt completed 11 of his 12 passes on the day for 128 yards and the touchdown. Perhaps most importantly, he did not turn the ball over.
McCoy also led the Redskins on a game-winning drive in the final minutes of the game.
Trailing 17-16 with just over three minutes left in the game, Washington the ball from their own 20-yard line and moved downfield to set up the winning field goal.
McCoy was 5-for-5 on the final drive which was aided by two defensive penalties.
The pass to Garcon was McCoy's first touchdown since playing for the Browns in 2012.
Last season, McCoy was a member of the San Francisco 49ers. He threw one pass as a 49er for a 13-yard completion.
Kirk Cousins has been a target of trade rumors in Cleveland for the past couple of seasons.
