GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida senior Andre Debose will miss the season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

Debose, who owns a school record with four kickoff returns for touchdowns, injured his knee during a non-contract drill in practice Tuesday. He will have season-ending surgery after swelling subsides.

Coach Will Muschamp says Debose was "doing very well in camp" and that coaches were "more than pleased with his effort and attitude."

Muschamp says Debose "just planted his foot and there was a tear. ... It is unfortunate and you feel bad anytime that someone is injured, and the coaching staff and our team will be very supportive in assisting Andre during his recovery."

Debose has 29 receptions for 543 yards and four touchdowns. His biggest contribution came on special teams.
