The five Ohio State football players who have been suspended by the NCAA for five games in 2011 will return for their senior seasons, Buckeyes head coach Jim Tressel said Thursday.

Tressel made the announcement during a morning news conference in New Orleans, where the team has begun final preparations for the Jan. 4 Sugar Bowl.

It has been widely speculated that quarterback Terrelle Pryor, wide receiver DeVier Posey, running back Dan Herron, left tackle Mike Adams and defensive end Solomon Thomas would enter the NFL draft rather than face a suspension that will eat up nearly half of their final seasons at Ohio State.

The NCAA announced last week it was suspending the players because they received extra benefits from a Columbus, Ohio, tattoo parlor and sold Ohio State-related memorabilia.

FOXSportsOhio.com will have more on this story as it develops.
