LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) The governing body of swimming has become the first Olympic sports federation to meet the IOC's call to reveal what senior officials are paid.
FINA says president Julio Maglione and other elected officials ''are considered volunteers and do not receive a salary.''
FINA says they receive $400 per day on official business and also have business class travel expenses covered.
The International Olympic Committee's ethics commission this month announced that President Thomas Bach gets 225,000 euros ($242,000) annually.
The panel urged other sports organizations to publish their payment policies.
FINA says it also proposes appointing a chief internal audit officer.
The move toward greater transparency follows the World Swimming Coaches Association's threat of a breakaway if FINA failed to adopt more ethical leadership.
