Fielder, Kinsler 'predict' trade in old commercial
The Texas Rangers trading second baseman Ian Kinsler to the Detroit Tigers for big bat Prince Fielder shocked everybody Wednesday. Many didn't see it coming.
Well, apparently, Kinsler and Fielder did.
Well, sorta.
After news broke of the blockbuster trade, Fansided dug and found an old video featuring the duo talking about trades in 2010 (when Fielder was still with the Brewers).
In an ESPN commercial to promote Sunday Night Baseball, Kinsler is asks Fielder if he's worth Tim Lincecum. Then he follows up with a Fielder-Kinsler ticket for the Giants' ace.
Actor Adam Scott provides the feel-good moment of the commercial when he says he wouldn't trade either of them. Well, apparently their previous clubs didn't feel the same way.
While they are not really predicting Wednesday's blockbuster trade, out of all the players in Major League Baseball, to see the two of them sitting next to each other talking about trades is a little weird to say the least.
Also worth mentioning, they both kind of swapped hair styles from this. Kinsler cut his off while Fielder grew his out. That's not really what's interesting in this story, but still worth pointing it out.
