FRISCO, Texas (AP) -- Clinton Irwin made 10 saves, leading the Charlotte Eagles to a 2-0 upset over FC Dallas of MLS on Tuesday night.

It was Irwin's second consecutive shutout in the U.S. Open Cup, allowing the USL Pro's Eagles to advance to the quarterfinals against another lower-division team, the NASL's San Antonio Scorpions.

Charlotte put only two shots on Dallas goalkeeper Chris Seitz, but scored on both.

Darryl Roberts headed in Nate Thornton's cross from the right corner in the 43rd minute. In stoppage time after the second half, Roberts passed to Thornton for the second goal.

FC Dallas played a man short for the final 12 minutes after Jackson received a red card.
