NEW YORK (AP) Favorite Tale and Ground Transport won the $100,000 stakes at Belmont Park on Sunday.

Favorite Tale beat Pure Sensation by a length in the Gold Fever for 3-year-olds. The gelding trained by Guadalupe Preciado rebounded from a seventh-place finish in the Bay Shore Stakes for his fourth win in five starts.

Jose Flores was aboard for the six furlongs in 1:10.25. Favorite Tale paid $8.50 to win.

The pacesetting Ground Transport held on by a head in Drosselmeyer, his third win in the last four starts.

Ever Rider made it a close finish at the end of the 1 1/4-mile race but could not edge the determined winner.

Ground Transport, ridden by John Velasquez and trained by Michael Stidham, paid $6.10 to win. The time was 2:02.78.
