Florida Atlantic athletics director Pat Chun cheerfully declined comment Sunday when asked about his potential interest in hiring Ohio State assistant Luke Fickell as the next head coach of the Owl football program.

Chun, who worked at Ohio State for 15 years prior to becoming FAU AD last year, reportedly has targeted Fickell as a replacement for Carl Pelini, who resigned Oct. 30 amid allegations of illegal drug use (He has since attempted to change course).

Chun was in Columbus Sunday to watch the Owl women's basketball team lose 91-88 to Ohio State and spent most of the game seated court-side with his former boss, OSU AD Gene Smith.

Earlier this week, Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer denied Fickell had interviewed with Chun, adding that none of his assistants are permitted to do interview for other jobs during the season.

"There’s absolutely no interviewing going on during this time," Meyer said. "No chance.”
